Device Structure

The press-pack structure ensures tight contact between the chip and the heat sink, reducing contact thermal resistance while simplifying the connection of power terminals. The gate drive circuit is integrated inside the module, which reduces external wiring, enhances electromagnetic interference (EMI) resistance, and lowers the risk of malfunctions.

Operating Principle

During turn-on, a positive trigger signal is applied to the gate, putting the device into a low-impedance conducting state. It realizes high-current and low-loss power transmission by virtue of its GCT structure. During turn-off, the gate drive circuit rapidly provides a reverse gate current, which reverse-biases the cathode and emitter of the GCT and quickly blocks the anode current. Reliable turn-off can be achieved without complex snubber circuits, which greatly simplifies system design and reduces overall cost and size.
