Input Characteristics

Sensor Types:

Thermocouples: Supports types B, E, J, K, R, S, T, with linearization, reference junction compensation, and fault detection (reverse connection, short circuit, open circuit) .

RTDs: Only supported by CLS204/208, 2/3-wire platinum resistors (100Ω@0°C), divided into two range gears:

RTD1: -148~527°F (-100~275°C), accuracy ±1.1°C .

RTD2: -184~1544°F (-120~840°C), accuracy ±1.6°C .

Linear signals: 0-20mA/4-20mA, 0-5VDC, 0-10VDC (scaling resistors required) .

Pulse input: 1 channel of TTL-level square wave, up to 2kHz .

Sampling rate: 6 samples per second (update time 0.167s), internal measurement resolution up to 0.006% (>14 bits) .

Output Characteristics

Digital outputs: 34 channels via 50-pin terminal board; 10 control channels via 18-pin terminal board. Each loop can allocate 1-2 outputs, supporting on-off or distributed zero crossing (DZC) control. Single-channel output sink current: 60mA@5VDC .

Alarm outputs: Independent high/low temperature and deviation alarms for each channel, supporting global alarm output and watchdog signal .

Communication and Power Supply

Serial port: EIA/TIA-232 or 485 (configurable terminal resistor), baud rate 2400/9600/19200bps, supporting Modbus RTU protocol .

Power supply: 15-24VDC (±3V), max. 1A; 300mA under no load (power adapter configuration for 204-C10000AA needs confirmation) .

Firmware and Functional Options

The firmware of CLS204 can be configured with different functions according to the model suffix (e.g., "C10000AA"):

Standard firmware: Includes closed-loop PID control, auto-tune, alarms, job memory (8 jobs), and sensor fault detection .

Ramp and Soak: Extends standard functions, supporting programmed heating/cooling and soaking stage control. Each channel can be configured for PID or ramp mode, and unused outputs can be used for signal retransmission .

Enhanced features: Includes process variable retransmission, remote analog setpoint, cascade control, ratio control, and differential control. Cascade control requires 2 loops per channel .

DAC/SDAC Modules (Optional)

DAC (Digital to Analog Converter): Converts DZC outputs to analog signals (4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V), supporting 1-2 channels per module .

SDAC (Serial Digital to Analog Converter): High-precision analog output for process variable retransmission, open-loop control, or motor speed regulation, requiring separate configuration (e.g., "AA" in the model may relate to the SDAC option) .

Terminals and Cables

Terminal board: "1" in 204-C10000AA may indicate an 18-pin terminal block (only supported by CLS204/208), with a standard SCSI cable (3 ft, right-angle interface optional) .
