ALSTOM PCO214 REV 1 CARD

General Information

PCO214 REV 1 is the Process Control Card (CPU main card) for the ALSTOM ALSPA P320 rack-mounted control system. REV 1 refers to the hardware revision. It is backward compatible with REV 0. This card performs real-time control logic calculation, process data processing, memory management and backplane bus communication. As the core processing unit for thermal power, gas turbine, hydropower and petrochemical drive control packages, it is widely used in closed-loop control of steam turbines, generators and high-power variable speed drives.

It adopts a standard Eurocard rack mounting design and plugs directly into the dedicated backplane of the ALSPA P320 chassis. It works together with I/O cards, communication cards and power supply cards to form a complete DCS and drive controller system.

Key Functions

  • Real-time control calculation: Executes closed-loop regulation, sequence control and protection interlock algorithms for high-speed periodic control of power generation equipment and high-power drives.
  • Local storage management: Equipped with on-board RAM and program Flash/ROM to store control programs, configuration parameters and calibration data.
  • Backplane bus communication: Exchanges field measurement signals and output commands with SCN communication cards and I/O acquisition cards via the internal rack bus.
  • On-board self-diagnosis: Integrated LED status indicators for run, stop, communication fault and hardware alarm status to simplify maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Configuration download and online monitoring: Supports parameter editing, program download and real-time variable monitoring through host configuration software.

Key Specifications

  • Platform: ALSPA P320 modular control system (legacy drive control product line of Alstom Power Conversion)
  • Mounting: Rack plug-in type, hot-swap capable under compatible system conditions
  • Power supply: 24V DC supplied by rack power module
  • Environmental design: Industrial reinforced PCB with vibration resistance and EMC performance for harsh sites in power plants, petrochemical plants and pump stations
  • Lifecycle status: Obsolete. Original manufacturer has stopped mass production. Alstom no longer manufactures new units; only spare part repair, refurbishment and life extension services are available. It is a critical spare part for legacy assets. REV 1 is a revised hardware release fixing known hardware defects of REV 0.

Applications

Gas turbine control, steam turbine control, hydro-generator control, high-power LCI variable frequency drive, critical process DCS and auxiliary excitation control subsystems. A large installed base operates in power generation and oil & gas facilities worldwide.
