Triconex 3501T 16-point TMR Digital Input Modules

Triconex 3501T is a 16-point Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) digital input module with a nominal input voltage of 115 VAC/VDC. It features 32 non-common, isolated input points, supports an input frequency of DC or 47-63 Hz, and has a recommended input range of 90–155 VAC/VDC. The minimum opto-isolation for point isolation is 1,780 VAC and 2,500 VDC. It enhances reliability through triple redundancy design, can force input values to a safe state in case of faults, and is suitable for critical system scenarios with strict safety requirements.

Triconex 3501T is a 16-point Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) digital input module positioned as a high-reliability device without a self-test function, suitable for critical system scenarios with strict safety requirements. The core difference between this module and the 3501E lies in its higher minimum point isolation. In terms of circuit design and architecture, it is composed of field circuitry (integrating components such as threshold detection, opto-isolators, and bus transceivers), a triplicated I/O bus for triple redundant signal transmission, an AC/DC input circuit supporting AC/DC input and including a bridge rectifier and AC smoothing circuit, as well as an intelligent I/O controller responsible for processing the logic control of input signals. Meanwhile, it ensures electrical isolation through opto-isolation and leg-to-leg isolation designs to enhance anti-interference capabilities. Its front panel design is similar to that of the 3501E, equipped with input point status indicators (No. 1-32), module status indicators (Pass/Fault/Active), and marked with red stripes as the color identification.

Fault-Safe Mechanism: Although it does not have a self-test function, as a TMR module, it enhances reliability through triple redundancy design. In case of a fault, it can force the input value to a safe state (reported as Off in de-energize-to-trip applications) .

Isolation Performance: With high-voltage isolation standards (1,780 VAC / 2,500 VDC), it prevents signal interference and the spread of electrical faults .
