FOXBORO FBM242 RH916TA 16-Channel Discrete Output Module

FOXBORO FBM242 RH916TA is an externally powered discrete output module in Schneider  Foxboro DCS system. It features 16 output channels and is compatible with a variety of terminal components, making it suitable for different application scenarios. The module supports discrete output signals of multiple voltage levels and is applicable to various industrial environments, especially harsh environments of G3 level. It has electrical isolation characteristics to ensure safe and stable operation. Channel Configuration: Supports 16-channel switch output.
Voltage and Current: Suitable for 15 to 60VDC (external power supply) with a maximum current of 2A.
Isolation Characteristics: Channel isolation is provided by the FBM242 module. Each channel is electrically isolated from other channels and ground, and can withstand 600VAC for 1 minute without damage.
Terminal Type: Uses compression terminals (Termination Type is C).
Cable Type: Supports Type 4 and Type 4H cables.
Certification Types: Certification types are 1 and 2, as follows:

• Type 1: UL/UL-C certified, applicable to Class I, Groups A-D, Division 2 hazardous locations, with temperature code T4; DEMKO certified as EEx nA IIC T4, suitable for Zone 2 potentially explosive environments.

• Type 2: UL/UL-C certified, serving as associated equipment to supply power to non-incendive field circuits in Class I, Groups A-D, Division 2 hazardous locations; DEMKO certified as associated equipment to supply power to field circuits in Group IIC, Zone 2 potentially explosive environments; if the customer's equipment complies with Class 2, the field circuit is Class 2 limited energy (60VDC, 30VAC, 100VA and below).

Mounting Method: Mounted on DIN rails, compatible with various DIN rail types such as 32mm and 35mm.
Weight: Approximately 272g (0.60lb) (for the 127mm specification).
Dimensions: Taking RH916JY as an example, the overall width is about 127mm (5.02in), and the height above the DIN rail is about 72mm (2.83in).

Other Notes

The maximum current is limited to 12A per 8 channels.
For inductive loads exceeding the specified limits, freewheeling diodes must be connected for DC inductive loads, and metal oxide varistors (MOVs) must be connected for AC inductive loads. The current rating of the diode should be equal to the maximum load current, and the voltage rating should be 1.3 times the maximum power supply voltage; the MOV should be rated for 120VAC, and its current rating should be equal to the maximum load current.

Relevant safety specifications must be followed during installation and maintenance to avoid applying voltages beyond the specified range, so as to prevent dangers such as electric shock and explosion.
