FOXBORO P0916DG is a supporting cable for FBM220/221 Terminal Assemblies (TA), part of the I/A Series hardware, used to connect H1 FOUNDATION fieldbus with FBM220 (single-channel) or FBM221 (four-channel) fieldbus modules. The cable is 20 meters (65.6 feet) in length, model P0916DG, and enables stable transmission of signals and power in complex industrial environments.

P0916DG Functional Features
Connection Function: As a dedicated connection cable between the Terminal Assembly (TA) and FBM subsystem backplane, it supports the physical connection of H1 fieldbus cables to FBM modules, ensuring reliable transmission of signals and power.
Compatibility: Compatible with FBM220 (single-channel) and FBM221 (four-channel) Terminal Assemblies to meet industrial automation needs for different channel counts. The FBM220 TA includes 1 set of H1 bus connections, while the FBM221 TA includes 4 sets.
Signal and Power Transmission
Signal Transmission: Supports bidirectional transmission of H1 FOUNDATION fieldbus signals, using compression screw terminals for quick and secure signal connections. It supports both trunk and spur bus wiring configurations.
Power Transmission: The DC-DC converter within the TA receives 24V DC power from an external source, converts it to isolated 30V DC power (300mA) to supply fieldbus field devices, and supports redundant power input.

Parameter Category | Specific Parameters |
---|
Cable Length | 20 meters (P0916DG) |
Communication Protocol | H1 FOUNDATION fieldbus |
Compatible Modules | FBM220 (single-channel), FBM221 (four-channel) |
Power Requirements | - Input: 24V DC (+5%, -10%) - Output: 30V DC ±6% (300mA / channel) |
Power Consumption | - Maximum 11.5W / channel (input) - Maximum 2.5W / channel (power loss) - Maximum 9W / channel (output power) |
Isolation Characteristics | All channels isolated from each other and ground; can withstand 600V AC between any channel and ground for 1 minute |
Environmental Parameters | - Operating temperature: -20℃ to +50℃ - Storage temperature: -40℃ to +80℃ - Relative humidity: 5% to 95% (non-condensing) - Altitude: Operating - 300 to +3000m, Storage - 300 to +12000m |
Physical Specifications | - Mounting method: Supports multiple DIN rail mountings (32mm, 35mm, etc.) - Weight: Approximately 332g - Wiring specification: 0.2 to 4mm² (solid / stranded), 24 to 12AWG |
- Provides dual connection terminals (e.g., two 0+, two 0-, and two shield points), supporting both trunk and spur bus wiring configurations. Figure 1 illustrates the H1 FOUNDATION fieldbus signal connection method.
- Terminal definitions: C=0+ (positive signal), B=0- (negative signal), A = shield.
- Supports redundant 24V power inputs labeled "Primary" and "Secondary," with redundancy control via internal diode "ORing."
- Additional L+ and N- connection terminals enable daisy-chain power connections or load sharing.
When FBM220/221 is located at the end of a fieldbus segment, the bus termination resistors within the terminal assembly can be switched on/off.
The power for each H1 bus segment can be individually controlled via an independent switch on the terminal assembly.
All channels are isolated from each other and ground, meeting electrical safety requirements in industrial environments.
Suitable for process control in industries such as oil, chemical, power, and pharmaceuticals, enabling real-time communication and data acquisition between field devices and control systems.
As a key connection component for H1 FOUNDATION fieldbus networks, supports both single-channel and four-channel configurations to meet industrial network requirements of varying scales.
Operates stably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C and relative humidity from 5% to 95% (non-condensing), adapting to diverse industrial field environments.
