MVI56-LTQ is a master
communication module specifically designed for the ControlLogix platform for Limitorque valve actuators. It is engineered to enable efficient interconnection between ControlLogix-compatible processors, Limitorque valve actuators, and other devices that support the Limitorque protocol.
Serving as an input/output interface between the Limitorque valve network and the ControlLogix processor, this module supports asynchronous data transmission. It realizes bidirectional interaction of valve information via a 1,500-word register space. When integrated with ladder logic, it can achieve precise control and status monitoring of valves, making it widely applicable to valve control networks in industrial automation scenarios.

Core Features
Multi-protocol & Interface SupportIt is compatible with three interfaces: RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485, which can be switched via jumper configuration to meet the requirements of different network topologies. It supports the Limitorque protocol and is adaptable to various valves and I/O modules such as MX/DDC Modbus, UEC-3-DDC Modbus, and DDC-100M.
Large-capacity Device ManagementIt supports the access and management of up to 150 slave stations (valves). The ActiveSlaves array enables flexible configuration of active slave stations, optimizing polling efficiency.
Redundant Communication DesignEquipped with dual-port (Port 1/Port 2) communication capability, it supports the cyclic polling mode (alternate use of dual ports) and can automatically switch faulty ports, enhancing communication reliability.
Rich Control FunctionsIt supports a variety of control commands including valve opening/closing, stop, ESD activation/termination, contactor pull-in/disconnection, and analog position setting (0–100%). Meanwhile, it can collect key data such as valve position, status, and faults.
Flexible Configuration & DiagnosticsIt provides detailed configuration parameters (e.g., baud rate, response timeout, polling scheme). It supports status monitoring, data capture, and troubleshooting via the configuration/debug port (CFG), and is equipped with LED indicators to visually display the module’s operating status.

Common Problems
Q: What if the module's OK light stays red?A: Power off and reinsert the module, check the jumper configuration, ensure the module is fully inserted into the rack, and contact technical support if the issue persists.
Q: Unable to connect to the CFG port?A: Use the specified null modem cable, set the terminal software to 57600 baud rate, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and disable RSLinx's occupation of the COM port.
Q: Communication error code -11 (response timeout)?A: Increase the MsgRespTm parameter (≥500 milliseconds) and check the slave status or network congestion.
Q: No response to valve control commands?A: Clear the corresponding slave command bit via the DoneBits array. For analog control, set AnalogPos first and then assert AnalogCmd.
Q: BAT light stays on (low battery voltage)?A: Keep the module powered on for 24 hours to charge. If the light remains on, contact ProSoft for replacement (the battery is not user-replaceable).
