The ICS Triplex T9431 is a high-reliability analog input module specifically designed for industrial process monitoring, and it belongs to the T9431/2 Series — where the T9431 is the 8-channel version and the T9432 is the 16-channel variant.Equipped with core features including channel isolation, comprehensive diagnostics and fault-tolerant design, this module enables accurate measurement of input current ranging from 0 mA to 24 mA. Channel Configuration & Data Acquisition

  • Channel Count: Features 8 fixed independent analog input channels. Each channel provides signal and power isolation from the rest of the system, effectively protecting the controller against field faults.
  • Measurement Range: The nominal measurement range is 4 mA DC to 20 mA DC, while the maximum range covers 0 mA DC to 24 mA DC, compatible with mainstream current-mode sensors and field devices in the industrial sector.
  • Data Output: Each channel can simultaneously transmit digital status signals and analog data to the processor, delivering comprehensive data source support for process monitoring.

Line Monitoring & Diagnostic Capabilities

  • Configurable Voltage Bands: Each input channel is equipped with 5 configurable voltage bands, including 8 distinct switch thresholds to enable hysteresis functionality. These can be adjusted according to actual application scenarios to meet the requirements of line monitoring and field device diagnostics.
  • Default Monitoring Levels: Three preset operating state ranges are available. The fault state is defined as 0 mA to 3.8 mA and above 22.0 mA; the normal state ranges from 3.8 mA to 22.0 mA. The module can be quickly put into operation without additional configuration.
  • Multi-level Diagnostics: Supports comprehensive system-level and module-level diagnostic functions, which can clearly indicate the location and type of faults to facilitate rapid maintenance and repair. It also supports HART Command #03, allowing collection of HART data from field devices for device status monitoring, parameter comparison and error reporting.

Safety & Fault-tolerant Design

  • Safety Integrity Level (SIL): Complies with the IEC 61508 SIL 3 standard (maximum achievable level for a single channel). The final SIL of the system can be flexibly adjusted through rational selection of CPU and input/output voting configurations.
  • Fault Isolation & Containment: The module integrates an independent watchdog mechanism to continuously monitor its operational status. If a fault is detected, a shutdown mechanism will be triggered to achieve a higher level of fault containment. Channel isolation can withstand a DC voltage of ±1.5 kV for 1 minute without abnormalities.
  • Redundancy & Fault Tolerance: When installed in dual-redundant or TMR configurations, it provides fault-tolerant input functionality. Replacement of the input module does not require interrupting the input data flow from the channels to the processor module, ensuring uninterrupted system operation.

  • T9831: Designed for simplex configurations, supporting 16 non-isolated analog inputs and compatible with one T9431 or T9432 module.
  • T9832: Designed for dual-redundant configurations, supporting 16 isolated analog inputs.
  • T9833: Designed for triple modular redundant (TMR) configurations, supporting 16 isolated analog inputs.
  • Each sensor input signal is protected by a 50 mA fuse in the termination assembly. The fuses can be replaced without removing the I/O module or termination assembly, ensuring convenient maintenance.

  • Configuring channel-level and module-level monitoring thresholds, and customizing the current ranges for fault and normal states.
