HIMA HIMatrix F3 DIO 8/8 01 is a safety remote I/O module developed by Germany-based HIMA. Part of the HIMatrix F3 series, it is engineered for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). The module features 8 safety digital input channels and 8 safety digital output channels. It communicates with HIMax and HIMatrix controllers via SafeEthernet to expand system I/O capacity. Complying with SIL 3, PL e and Cat.4 safety standards, it is ideal for safety control applications in high-risk industries such as petrochemical, power and metallurgy.

1. Hardware Specifications

Input: 8 digital input (DI) channels, 24 VDC, max. 20 mA per channel. Compatible with passive contacts and equipped with built-in short-circuit protection for the power supply.
Output: 8 DO+ channels (common terminal L-, 0.5 A per channel), 2 DO- channels (common terminal S+ for enhanced load capacity) and 2 pulse output channels. Output voltage ≥ L+ - 2 V.

2. Safety & Diagnostics

Input Diagnostics: Detects wire short circuit and open circuit. The LED will trigger an alarm upon faults, and the program executes power-off trip logic.
Output Diagnostics: Detects external short circuits under bipolar mode. The faulty channel switches to safe state, and all outputs will be disabled in case of module failure.
Status Indication: LED indicators for power, system, communication and I/O status enable quick visual diagnosis.

Configuration Tools: SILworX (V7 and above), ELOP II Factory.
Parameters: Input filter, output delay and communication parameters are configurable.
