Hardware Structure & Slot Configuration
Slot Layout Rules
Mandatory Compatible Accessories
- Software Version Restriction: This Mini-Rack only supports 3500/01 configuration software V2.70 and newer. Older software versions fail to recognize the Mini-Rack hardware architecture.
- Compatibility Limitations: Incompatible with the 3500/93 System Display A01 front-mount kit, 3500/06 weatherproof enclosure and bulkhead mounting assemblies. If internal isolators are required, one additional slot must be allocated for the 3500/04-01 isolator grounding module to provide an intrinsically safe grounding circuit.

Comparison of Three Mounting Types (This Model Only Supports Rack Mount & Panel Mount)
Rack Mount (Corresponding to BB=05 for this model)
The unit is fixed to a 19-inch EIA cabinet via the 144863-01 adapter panel. All wiring and I/O module terminals are accessible from the rear of the rack, making this mounting type suitable for centralized installation in standard control room cabinets.Panel Mount (BB=04 for Mini-Rack)
The rack is embedded into a cutout on the control cabinet panel and secured with original factory clamps; wiring and maintenance operations are performed from the rear side.Bulkhead Mount (Not available for Mini-Rack)
This mounting type is exclusively supported by full-size 19-inch racks. The rack is mounted flush against the wall, with all wiring and I/O terminals accessible from the front. This structural option is not offered for the Mini-Rack.Dimension & Cutout Specifications
1. Overall Mounting Dimensions of Mini-Rack (Based on Panel Mount)
- Overall height: 265.94 mm (10.470 in)
- Rack width: 304.80 mm (12.000 in)
- Depth: 246.38 mm (9.700 in)
- Overall depth increases to 422.91 mm (16.650 in) when internal isolators are installed.
2. Recommended Control Cabinet Panel Cutout Dimensions
Rectangular cutout size: 452.1±1.5 mm (17.80±0.06 in) × 251.5±1.5 mm (9.90±0.60 in)Maximum corner radius: 3.2 mm (0.125 in)Tight tolerance control of cutout dimensions is required to prevent failure of rack locking and fastening.3. Auxiliary Structure for Rack Mount
When fitted with the 144863-01 adapter panel, the unit fits standard 482.60 mm (19-inch) industrial cabinets widely used in the industry. The adapter panel acts as an intermediate connector to bridge the dimensional gap between the 12-inch Mini-Rack and 19-inch cabinets.
Applicable Scenarios & Selection Advantages
Applicable Scenarios
Core Product Advantages
Compact Footprint
The 12-inch Mini-Rack is equipped with only 7 slots, drastically saving cabinet installation space.
Compatibility with Standard Cabinets
It fits universal industry-standard 19-inch EIA cabinets when used with the matching adapter panel; no custom non-standard cabinets are required for equipment retrofits.
Full CE Compliance
It meets three mandatory EU standards covering electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility and environmental protection, eliminating certification barriers for overseas projects.
Modular Expandability
Vacant slots can be freely populated with various 3500 series monitoring cards for displacement, vibration, rotational speed and communication, delivering flexible expansion capability.
Complete Standard Spare Parts Kit
Factory-standard blank panels, brackets and screw sets are supplied, enabling convenient replacement and on-site maintenance.

Usage Restrictions & Precautions
This rack shall not be deployed in explosive hazardous areas. Racks with explosion-proof certification codes must be selected for hazardous location projects.
The configuration software must be upgraded to 3500/01 V2.70 or later; hardware recognition will fail on older software revisions.
It is incompatible with the front-mounted display 3500/93, weatherproof enclosure 3500/06 and bulkhead mounting assemblies.
Installation of internal isolators will occupy one available slot, and a dedicated grounding module must be purchased separately.
The 144863-01 adapter panel is mandatory for mounting into a 19-inch cabinet; secure fastening cannot be achieved without this accessory.
The power supply module and rack interface module must be fitted in the leftmost slots of the rack. Random slot rearrangement will result in loss of system communication.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can model 3500/05-02-05-00-00-01 be mounted directly into a standard 19-inch cabinet?
A1: Direct mounting is not possible. The adapter panel with part number 144863-01 is mandatory. Secure the adapter panel onto the cabinet rails first, then install the mini rack onto the panel.
Q2: Can this mini rack adopt bulkhead mounting configuration?
A2: Bulkhead mounting is not available for all 3500 series mini racks. This mounting option is only offered for full-size 19-inch racks with corresponding ordering code, so this model is incompatible.
Q3: Is this rack suitable for site applications under Zone 2 hazardous area conditions?
A3: The CC code of this model is 00, which means it does not hold CSA, ATEX or IECEx hazardous area certifications. For explosion-proof applications, the CC segment of the model code must be changed to 02 to select a rack with full hazardous area approvals.
Q4: What is the minimum software version required for the upper-level configuration software matching this rack?
A4: The minimum required version of the 3500/01 configuration software is V2.70. Versions lower than this cannot recognize the mini rack hardware and will lead to communication reading failures.
Q5: Will installing internal barriers inside the rack occupy an extra module slot?
A5: Yes. The 3500/04-01 Internal Barrier Earthing Module is required when internal barriers are fitted, and this module occupies one dedicated rack slot. A spare slot must be reserved during layout planning.
Q6: Can the 3500/93 System Display be used with this mini rack?
A6: They are structurally incompatible. The 3500/93 display panel is only designed for full-size 19-inch racks, and no matching mounting structure is available for mini racks.
Q7: What problems will occur if blank covers are not installed on unused rack slots?
A7: Dust and moisture from the site will penetrate into the backplane slots and corrode connector contacts. Long-term operation without covers will result in signal fluctuation and communication dropout. All vacant slots must be fitted with matching half-height or full-height dust blank covers.
Q8: What are the upper and lower limits of the operating ambient temperature for this rack?
A8: The stable operating temperature range is -20°C to +65°C. Operating outside this range may cause modules to go offline automatically and distort measured data.
