The 3500/15 127610-01 power module is a dedicated power supply unit developed by Bentley, a subsidiary of Baker Hughes, for the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System. Core Power Supply and Input Configuration

Primary/Secondary Redundancy Design: When two power modules are installed in the chassis, the module in the lower slot acts as the primary power unit and the one in the upper slot as the secondary unit. The secondary module can seamlessly take over power supply in the event of a primary module fault. With dual-module deployment, hot-swapping either module will not cause chassis operation interruption, which greatly improves the fault tolerance and stability of the power supply system.
Three Input Types: The module offers three power supply input options: universal AC, high-voltage DC (HVDC) and low-voltage DC (LVDC), each of which must be used with a corresponding Power Input Module (PIM). The specific input parameters are as follows: the nominal voltage of universal AC is 110–220Vac; for non-hazardous areas, the effective input voltage ranges from 85 to 264Vac, while for hazardous areas it is 85–250Vac, with an input frequency of 47–63Hz; the HVDC input is 88–140Vdc; the LVDC input is 20–30Vdc.
Compatibility Note: The new universal AC, HVDC and LVDC power modules and their matching PIMs are not compatible with legacy products of the same type, and mixed deployment is strictly prohibited.

Electrical Protection and Power Consumption Parameters

Comprehensive Protection Mechanism: The module is equipped with overvoltage and undervoltage protection functions. Undervoltage will not cause damage to the module and its matching PIMs, while overvoltage will trigger the fuse on the PIM to blow, protecting the power supply circuit and related equipment.
Current Consumption Specifications: The maximum current consumption of modules with different input types for full-chassis operation varies: 2.8A RMS for universal AC type, 2.5A for HVDC type, and 11.0A for LVDC type.
Flexible Load Deployment: The module has no minimum chassis load requirement and can be flexibly adjusted according to the actual system configuration, adapting to the power supply needs of different application scenarios.
Operating Status Feedback: A Supply OK indicator light is mounted on the front panel of the module. A steady light indicates that the power module is in normal operating condition, facilitating quick patrol inspection by on-site operation and maintenance personnel.

Physical Specifications and Installation Requirements

Product Dimensions and Weight: The power module itself measures 120.7mm×50.8mm×251.5mm (4.75 in × 2.0 in × 9.9 in) and weighs 1.39 kg (3.06 lb); the matching Power Input Module (PIM) measures 120.7mm×25.4mm×114.3mm (4.75 in × 1.0 in × 4.5 in) and weighs 0.34 kg (0.75 lb). The overall design is compact and lightweight, suitable for modular configuration.
Chassis Installation Requirements: Two half-height slots are designated on the left side of the 3500 chassis for power module deployment; the Power Input Module must be installed in the dedicated half-height slot directly behind the corresponding power module. The installation method complies with the standardized deployment requirements for industrial modular equipment, enabling easy disassembly and assembly.

Environmental Adaptability

This module delivers excellent adaptability to harsh environments, with an operating temperature range of -30°C to +65°C (-22°F to +150°F) and a storage temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F). The module  ordering model adopts the coding format of 3500/15-AA-BB-CC:
  • AA represents the power module type for the upper slot: 03 = legacy HVDC, 04 = legacy LVDC, 05 = universal AC, 06 = HVDC, 07 = LVDC;
  • BB represents the power module type for the lower slot, covering all types of AA, with 00 indicating no module configured in this slot;
  • CC represents the certification: 00 = no certification, 01 = CSA/NRTL/C (Class I, Division 2) certification.
Options can be flexibly selected according to actual requirements.
