The S-D4041B is a core PLC main control computing board originally developed by Reliance Electric exclusively for the PSC7000 CompactPCI motion control platform. It is an upgraded and improved variant based on the base S-D4041 model. As the computing core of the entire multi-axis servo system, it undertakes core tasks including logic operation of the whole control system, motion algorithm scheduling, bus data exchange and overall program storage.
Adopting a standard 3U Eurocard CPCI bus architecture, the S-D4041B board can be directly inserted into the main Slot of the PSC7000 main backplane. A complete automation control solution can be configured by pairing it with S-D4043 (MCIM-2) pulse feedback boards, communication cards and I/O expansion cards. The board integrates an independent high-speed DSP computing chip, delivering dual functionality of conventional PLC logic control and high-end multi-axis motion control. Unlike simple I/O acquisition or pulse feedback boards, it parses ladder diagrams and motion function block programs programmed via MotionWorks, transmits speed and position commands to servo drives, and synchronously receives encoder feedback signals to execute closed-loop calculations.

Optimized by the original manufacturer for high-dynamic continuous production lines such as printing, lithium battery and metal coil processing, this board has been out of production for many years. At present, it is mainly used as spare parts replacement for legacy equipment and production line retrofitting & upgrading projects.
