modular input/output module for safety-related control systems manufactured by HIMA. It is specifically designed for the HIMatrix F60 modular system, featuring both digital input and output capabilities.
Widely used in process control, protection systems, burner control and machine tool control applications, this module complies with SIL 3 in accordance with IEC 61508. For railway applications, it meets SIL 4 as per EN 50126/50128/50129 standards.With integrated fault detection and safety response mechanisms, the module guarantees reliable operation in industrial environments. Installation and Maintenance
Installation Requirements
The module shall be installed in an available slot of the HIMatrix F60 subrack (any slot except Slot 1 for power supply and Slot 2 for CPU).Disconnect the controller power before installation to avoid module damage caused by live operation.
A minimum clearance of 100 mm for ventilation shall be reserved at the top and bottom of the module.Direct installation above heat sources is prohibited.
The subrack must be mounted on a DIN rail or a flat base plate.
The mounting bolt diameter shall not exceed 6 mm, with a head diameter not exceeding 13 mm.
When wiring, cables shall be routed vertically downwards and secured with cable ties.The shield of shielded cables shall be connected to the system earthing bar via an earthing clamp.Earthing connections shall be as short as possible to reduce earthing resistance.
If the input signal source has its own voltage, its earthing shall be connected to the module input earth.For inductive loads, a protective diode is recommended to be connected directly in parallel at the actuator side.
Maintenance Essentials
Regularly check the status of the module LEDs.Channel or module-level faults can be identified via the FAULT LED, and fault causes can be located using diagnostic history (readable via programming tools).
The backup battery (CR 1/2 AA 3 V lithium battery built in the PS 01 power supply module) must be replaced every 4 years.Replacement can be performed during system operation without losing the system ID and IP address stored in the CPU NVRAM.
If persistent faults occur, first troubleshoot external line interference and the status of sensors/actuators before considering module replacement.After replacement, ensure the user program is adapted to the new module configuration.
Avoid using test mode or forcing functions during safety-related operation.
If testing is required, approval from the testing authority shall be obtained and additional safety monitoring measures shall be implemented.
