The
ICS Triplex T8293 is a
power distribution accessory for Rockwell Automation
Trusted Safety Control Systems. It is designed to build dual redundant power distribution links for Safety Instrumented Systems, supporting dual 24 V DC / 48 V DC inputs and providing 15 sets of dual-channel fuse-protected output circuits. The unit is suitable for mounting on standard TS32 and TS35 DIN rails.
The module incorporates full-circuit fault monitoring circuitry. An on-board red LED gives clear visual indication upon any single-channel fuse rupture. Passive relay contacts deliver a unified fault alarm signal. Compliant with IEC 61508 SIL4 functional safety standards, it works with Trusted control system version 3.6.1. It serves as core standardized power distribution hardware for safety loops across the process industries.

Horizontal or vertical DIN rail mounting; compatible with TS32 and TS35 rails.
Safety Certifications
SIL4 functional safety certification, plus global compliance approvals including CE, UL and CSA.
Environmental Performance
10%–95% non-condensing humidity tolerance; resistant to radio frequency interference; ESD handling procedures apply.
Application Industries
Oil & Gas: Field device power supply for wellhead ESD emergency shutdown systems and F&G fire & gas detection systems.Fine Chemicals & Petrochemicals: Power distribution for BMS burner management systems of reaction furnaces and process safety interlock loops.Thermal & Renewable Power Generation: Safety instrumented systems for boiler interlocks and turbine protection.Metallurgical Processes: Safety shutdown for high-temperature smelting and protection systems for gas pipeline leakage.Pharmaceutical Manufacturing: Power supply for SIS in hazardous areas and interlock equipment for sealed reactors.

Product Advantages
Dual redundant power architecture with two independent input power feeds. Failure of one power source will not interrupt power supply to all output loads.
Thirty independent 3.15 A fast-blow fuses and 15 groups of isolated dual-channel outputs. A short circuit on a single circuit only disconnects the corresponding channel and prevents total power outage.
Hierarchical fault diagnostics: green LEDs indicate input power status, while red LEDs signal individual fuse faults. Passive contacts enable connection to central control alarm systems.
Jumper-selectable voltage support. A single hardware unit accommodates two industrial DC voltage ranges: 22–30 V DC and 43–60 V DC, delivering excellent versatility across projects.
Suitable for wide temperature and humidity operating conditions. Continuous operating temperature: 0 ℃ to 60 ℃; storage temperature: -25 ℃ to 70 ℃. Stable operation within 10%–95% non-condensing humidity.
Compact DIN rail design. Dimensions: 79 mm × 285 mm × 109 mm with a net weight of only 576 g, minimising cabinet installation space occupation.
ESD-protected PCB. Compatible with standard dedicated cables for direct connection to field terminal assemblies FTA / VFTA and enables standardised wiring layout.

FAQ
Q1: Do I need to select separate 24 V and 48 V versions when ordering? Are there different hardware model numbers?A1: The unit shares a single unified model T8293 with no separate model variants for different voltages. Voltage mode is selected only via internal jumpers. You only need to order T8293, and adjust jumpers on site according to requirements.
Q2: Can the maximum load current of a single channel exceed 3.15 A?A2: Not permitted. Each circuit is fitted with a 3.15 A rated fuse; sustained overload will cause fuse blowout. For safety system design, single-channel load should be limited below 2.8 A to retain safety margin.
Q3: Are the T8293 fault alarm contacts normally open or normally closed under healthy status?A3: Contacts remain closed when no fuse fault exists. Contacts open once any fuse blows. The central control system identifies power distribution faults by detecting open circuits.
Q4: Can T8293 fuses be replaced live within hazardous explosion-proof areas?A4: Strictly prohibited. Both input power feeds must be fully isolated before fuse replacement. Live operations carry explosion hazards in hazardous areas.
Q5: Can T8290C and T8293 power distribution modules be mixed within the same system?A5: Parallel power feeding is electrically feasible, yet mixing is not recommended. T8290C lacks individual branch fuse monitoring with limited fault diagnostics, which will degrade the overall SIL safety integrity level.
Q6: What is the maximum allowable surface temperature during operation? How to handle high-temperature working conditions?A6: Maximum continuous operating ambient temperature is 60 ℃. Excessively high temperatures accelerate PCB ageing. Install T8270 cooling fans inside control cabinets to lower ambient cabinet temperature.
Q7: Should fuses be ordered separately as spares? Are fuses pre-fitted on new modules?A7: New modules are factory-equipped with 30 pieces of 3.15 A fuses. For long-term maintenance, it is recommended to purchase T8901 fuse kits as spare consumables.
Q8: Can the unit run with only one of the two input power supplies connected?A8: Single-feed operation is acceptable for temporary maintenance, but not recommended for long-term service. Redundancy and fault tolerance will be lost; loss of the single active power supply will cut power to all field loads, violating SIS design specifications.
